There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 AMP
Another year going by too quickly. The end of holidays and back to school, work and life. Oh dear! So I thought I would revisit our attitude towards time.
Does your schedule, calendar, to-do-list or whatever you like to call it, seem to rule and govern your life with a mind of its own? Being organised and disciplined about all things time management is a great way to get things done. (I know!) However, if the process takes over, rather than being a support for your dreams and God-given purpose, it may feel like a big heavy noose around your neck.
Whether you are a student, worker, mum, wife, grandma, or all of the above, you and I need balance as we navigate the resource called time.
Okay, I hear you wail. But how?
Allow some margin. To spend time with God. To do spontaneous things that pop up from nowhere.
Delight in every event to find joy in the moment, even in those daily and sometimes mundane things that need to be done. Enjoy fun things that rejuvenate and uplift. Pop some corn with the kids then watch a movie with them. Walk in a park to bask in God’s creation.
Then remember to walk your purpose. It might not seem delightful at the outset but persevere. Sowing good seed during the tough building and refining times, will achieve growth to achieve what you were designed for. Make the most of every God-given single moment.
God, I am reminded of all You’ve given to me, through Jesus Christ. This new year, I desire to give You my best— time, money and service, as well as sacrifice. And Lord, no matter how I spend my time and resources, I know that I can never out give You.
Love and Hugs,
Peta
