Stepping Into God's Vision for My Life

For over 15 years, I've had the privilege of walking alongside Christians and married couples as they discover God's purpose, overcome fear, and step boldly into the abundant life they're called to live. But my journey to becoming a certified Christian life coach and marriage counselor wasn't a straight path, it was shaped by burnout, breakthrough, and God's faithful guidance through every season.

In my professional life, I have been a fashion designer and teacher of design, business, marketing and communications. However, I felt God's unmistakable call to pastoral ministory. I pursued training through Harvest Bible College, earning my Diploma of Ministry. For over 30 years I served my husband and I worshipped at Life Christian Church (formerly Westside CC) during which I was on staff for 9 years as a pastor. I led cell group leaders as a coordinator and a team of volunteers in writing daily devotionals for the church

The Burnout That Changed Everything

While serving in full time ministry, managing family life and teaching part time, I experienced burnout. Twice.

The first time, I lived on the couch. I don't remember much from that season except exhaustion and fog. The second time, I recognized the warning signs because I'd been there before. I was driven, always going, and heading straight back to that dangerous edge.

In desperation, I cried out to God. His answer was simple but life-changing: Stop every hour and connect with Me.

He instructed me to pause every hour for just 10 minutes, to speak Scripture, sit in His presence and rest in Him. It seemed random, but I trusted Him and obeyed.

Within three days, everything changed. I went from the edge of burnout to deep, abiding peace. I had two weeks of scheduled leave coming up, but by the time it arrived, I felt so fantastic that I had the best, most restful leave I'd ever experienced. I knew immediately: I had to teach this to others.

A Woman of Influence: Empowering Change Against Human Trafficking

In 2014, God gave me a vision I didn't want: A Woman of Influence, a nonprofit dedicated to raising money for A21, an organization that rescues victims of human trafficking.

I told God, "I don't run events. I speak at events." But He said, "You'll cast vision. The team will do it."

So I obeyed. I began casting vision wherever God prompted me, and within months, I had a team of 30 women. For 10 years, we ran galas, momentum events, and fundraisers that raised over $80,000 for A21 and that money rescued real people from unimaginable darkness. It might not sound like much compared to large organizations, but as I always say: that's one starfish. One young woman. One life saved. And it matters to that one person.

In 2025, I handed A Woman of Influence over to Michelle Thornton, who is taking it to new heights. I'm still the founder, and I'll still speak at events, but I'm no longer carrying the weight of leadership. It's a beautiful transition and one I'm grateful for.

Media Ministry, My Books and A Decade of Impact

Through Woman of Influence, I was connected to 96.3 Geelong Bass Radio and eventually became a regular speaker. For over 8 years, I was on radio, sharing biblical encouragement, practical life coaching and hope with listeners.

That radio presence opened doors to Vision Christian Radio and Focus on the Family, where I was interviewed and featured. These media opportunities became one of the primary ways I connected with people and spread the message of hope, healing, and transformation.

I wrote Un-Frazzle & Re-Dazzled because God told me "If this helps just one person, it's worth it. It took me 7 years and 14 edits and there were moments I wanted to throw it away. This book was born from my burnout experience and God's method for finding peace in the chaos. It's practical, biblical, and designed to help women move from frazzled to dazzled by God's presence.

My second book came from what I learned in my studies about journaling and finding meaning. I developed the QUIZ method, an acronym for asking God questions about what you're going through and processing it through Scripture. It's a journaling devotional that's helped countless people deepen their walk with God and discover His voice in their daily lives.
